On December 29, the forth renovated station – Freedom Square was added to Tbilisi Metro. This year Tbilisi Mayor's Office financed the metro stations reconstruction project, under which four stations – Isani, Avlabari, Tsereteli Avenue and Freedom Square were renovated. For this purpose, 2,4 mln Lari was allocated from Tbilisi Municipal Budget.

The reconstruction of Freedom Square Station changed the interior, communications. The upper vestibule, the escalator tunnel and the lower vestibule were completely redesigned. The obsolete lighting was replaced with modern economic lights. To add to the New Year atmosphere for passengers, the New Year Trees were set up in the upper and lower vestibules. The entire station was decorated with toys and garlands. Video-surveillance system and advertising monitors were also installed.

Among the guests at the presentation were Mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava, Deputy Mayor Davit Alavidze and the media representatives.
