New Design of “Nadzaladevi” Metro Station

On November 19 one more station “Nadzaladevi” was renovated in “Tbilisi Metro”. Station Reconstruction Project has been in the process for two years, financed from Tbilisi local budget and within the scope of which four stations – Isani, Avlabari, Tsereteli Avenue and Freedom Square were renovated in 2006.

Varketili and Akhmeteli Theatre are going to be added to the number of renovated stations till the end of 2007. Rehabilitation works of the said stations have been in the process for six months and Tbilisi City Hall allocated the required sum of reconstruction of the three stations in the amount of 1,85 million lari.

After reconstruction interior, communications, upper entrance hall, inclined tunnel and distribution hall design of Nadzaladevi station was changed. Outworn lighting was replaced with modern eco-lights. Advertising monitors were installed and the square on the territory adjacent to the station was renewed.

The presentation was attended by Gigi Ugulava - Tbilisi Mayor, Davit Alavidze - Deputy Mayor, Niko Khachirashvili - Gldani-Nadzaladevi District Governor and mass media representatives together with “Tbilisi Metro” Administration. Tbilisi Mayor traveled by the train up to the Freedom Square station.
